CAS

Creativity, Activity and Service

IB students are expected to participated in Creativity, Activity and Service, otherwise known as CAS.  Starting August 1st of their Junior year, IB students are expected to complete 11 CAS experiences (10 small experiences and 1 month-long (minimum) experience).

Students are expected to complete 5 experiences in their junior year and 5 experiences in their senior year.  The CAS project can be completed any time during the last two years of the IB programme.  Students are required to log their experiences in Managebac.  Should you need assistance on whether or not a CAS experience will be counted, please do not hesitate to email Mr. Lynch at jelani_lynch@ccpsnet.net.

To the left, you see students from Chalkley Elementary School.  Meadowbrook's IB students started doing virtual mentoring sessions with them once a month starting in the 2021-22 school year and finally got to meet the students in March 2023.

IB Connects

Getting Involved

Need help navigating IB life and the rigor and requirements?  Join IB Connects!  This group meets twice a month on Thursday afternoons.  Students work on assignments, encourage one another and help each with CAS experiences.  This year, students are going to create an IB mural in Meadowbrook's cafeteria.  To the right, students are sanding the wall to prepare it for priming and painting.  IB Mural 2023 is completed and adorned in our school cafeteria!
